HP upgrade, leaf spring question?
So ive got a 72 road runner currently with a 318 in it. But im nearly done with getting most of my upgrades including my 440, 727, and dana 60. The engine has a .30 bore and a stroker kit with aluminum heads and intake and efi. the dana has 4.10 posi. My question is about the leaf springs. I know i need to get new ones, but what exactly should i buy?? Ive been looking at the super stocks, but i wanted to hear your guys' input.
This car will be a street car and im not sure of the vehicle weight yet with all the new upgrades, so i dont know what weight i need to specify when ordering my springs either. thanx

I think I would just use some HD springs (like from/for a station wagon).
SS springs are way stiff and have a serious arch to them.
If you still have traction problems after, put on some "cal-tracs" bars.
the HD springs will be much stiffer than stock but not jack up the rear as bad.
not sure where you could get them. Im sure a good spring shop will be able to help.

yea i was lookin at those too. summit has a HD set listed as o.e. replacement for 440 and 426 cars. So were heavy duty springs used automatically with those cars? or was it just another option i wonder?
Any body else has any experience with the hd springs?
