Leaf spring lowering
Have you guys ever removed a leaf from your springs to lower your cars a bit?
Is this a horrible idea?
Thanks,
Gary

I think it is a terrible idea, but that doesn't mean people haven't done it.
The problem that is you are weakening the spring and changing the spring rate and coiling on launch.
Shortening the rear bracket/shackle, if possible or having the springs re-arced would be a better route, IMHO.

rearch is the best way. any big city should have one. stock spring are made for the weight of the car. if you change the spring rate your handling will be very bad. and the extra load on the rest of the springs may cause them to fail. then if its drag car it will upset the launch. cause the rear springs have to PUSH down to get traction upon launch.
