My 73 Charger project
My 73 Charger project
Pretty new here so I figured I'd start a build thread, this is a car I bought years ago. Its a 73 Charger brougham edition with a numbers matchin 400 big block P vin, with all options for that year,(PS,AC, disc brakes in front, sunroof). I yanked the motor and trans out of it and then it sat for years, now I've gotten a little bit of money together I'm starting to put it together. So far I've gotten the heads ported, milled, and oversize valves sunk in. The block and crank are at the machine shop now. I'm getting a .030 overbore and the crank milled .010 under and getting the new cam bearings pressed in. I also already have a set of heddman long tube headers, edelbrock intake and carb, aluminum waterpump housing, MSD 6AL box, and a lunati voodoo cam. As soon as I get my motor back together I can start working on the trans which I'm going to overhaul the 727 with a cheetah valvebody (possibly the e-shift) and then stronger bands, clutches, performance servo, etc... Then its just getting the dam $500 convertor and I might be close to on the road. Def gonna be a slow build but am trying to have it on the road and primered by next spring. Here's a few pics:

Some pics of the engine compartment, I'm halfway done sanding and painting for the motor.

Hopefully will have my motor in the week after memorial day, I took off that week and would like to get the motor dropped in

Im thinking either a dark forest green pearl, a deep blue with ghost flames, or a solid high gloss black, paint is still a long way away, I want to get the seats redone with leather and new headliner, carpet... Anyone kno of a place that does dash repairs or makes replicas? mine has cracks in it from being in the sun for a couple decades.
