Seat Belts

Ok so the other day i finally took my girlfriend for a ride in the Belvedere and she was scared because it didnt have the shoulder strap for the seat belt. I was wondering if there is a place that i can get modern seat belts?

Put some racing seats with the 5 point, that'll make her feel safe.

Just google seat belts there are universal 3 points for less than $100. Matters what year but I believe most cars have a hole already in case if you optioned for the 3 point back in the day, my Satellite has them.

depending on the year, a lot of cars had the shoulder strap in the overhead. Just hanging out there with a little clip to slide it in to keep it out of the way. If you look around almost any junkyard you should see some. They are the same as the lap belt, just mounted a little behind the front seat on the celing. The issue with installing modern seat belts (aside from 5 point) is the mounting and the retracting mechinism. I am not saying it is impossible, but it will be a pain in the butt.

If you are interested I have a set of 5 point that are too old for NHRA.. But the belts are fine... Will make you a deal on them... $50. and you pay the freight.... I think they are the cam-lock ones... Will look on Friday when I get back home.. Mack
