Wrong alternator?
 

Can someone verify that I need an alternator with 2 field posts for my 1970 Belvedere 318 car? The one that is on there now is a one field with a ground post (pre-1970 I think) and they did not properly modify the wiring. Hence, the blue wire from the alternator is missing ALL the insulation!

Yes, you need the dual field model. Sounds like you already knew that though, what's up?

Should use the 2 field...

That was it. Wrong alternator. Charging fine.

Good Deal.... Those will charge like hell if you full field them.. Cook a battery in no time at all.....lol
