65 Fury park not engaging sometimes

65 Fury park not engaging sometimes
When I stop my 65 fury and put it in park, let off the brake, sometimes it rolls a little and goes thump! thump! thump! and then park engages.
Is this a linkage problem? Or is there something inside that wears out? Any ideas?
I had a taurus that did this and it was just the linkage out of adjustment...
