Talking 66 Fury Spark Advance?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what degree the spark advance should be set to on my 66 Fury. The engine is a 2 bbl 318.

Is that a 318 poly?
Rule of thumb is to advance until the car pings, then back it off. Also, once the car becomes a little hard to start, back off to ease the stress on the starter.

I believe it is a poly. It has the scalloped edge valve covers. Thanks very much for the advice, that's what I'll try.

I advanced it and backed it off to where it sounded good. It was at around 15.* I test drove it and immediately noticed it was running better. The engine accelerates quicker and more fluidly. I appreciate the tips, thanks.
