Spark plugs no spark

chrysler cirrus 99 v6

car died after start up. at first glance had oil in cylinder 6. replaced valve cover gasket. took off the upper air intake manifold to replace back valve cover gasket. had oil in back, cylinders 1,3,5. replaced all spark plugs, and spark plug wires. put everything back together and was running awesome for 10 minutes then died again. replaced the rotor and cap on the distributer. no spark on the spark plugs. i can smell the gas comming through and it sounds like the fuel pump is going okay, as well as the fuel injectors are running as well. relays are good. also the multimeter read 12v at the distributorNo codes. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I want to replace the distributor but I want to know for sure that it is bad before I shell out the money. Any ideas?

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't mind helping someone with their vehicle on a forum. I have issue with people joining the forum just to ask how to fix it and then their gone. Contribute more than a question and/or exhibit a desire towards Mopars and this forum, and you might find some help. I'd start with an intro...
