drums vs. disc
disco polaro
yes, having discs on the front would be a plus for stopping power. the problem is you have a C-body. the best C-body brakes would be from a 1973 (and 1973 only) C-body. These had the unicast large rotors. The only other option would be the aftermarket kits. Not sure which one of those is the best for the C-body. Rear disc brakes might help a little for stopping but I think they are too much of a pain in the ***. They look trick though.
having disc all the way around is a HUGE plus. Having a disc/drum set up is a lot etter than drum/drum. Then again, if you have new drum brakes all around and they are set up properly, you'll have no issues stopping.
i just replaced my rear brakes n cylinders a couple weeks ago, n the stoping power really isnt all that great on less i slam on them, how much woul da set of front disc brakes run me ?
Braking power 98% of it is on the Front with just about every car...similar to braking on a motorcycle you brake with your front a majority....
Im in the same boat im going to order the Front kit Either From SSBC i saw another company that has a set conversion for about 300$ less. i know SSBC has a kit for my fury for about 800 or 900$ for front brakes...
i would stick with drums. But i live in Alaska and stopping is crucial...seeing as moose dont car and...well weigh more then the fury = ).
i suggest getting a front disc setup if its in your budget, if not just be easy on the streets and have fun on the track = )
