Headers for 63 Imperial

I Believe the Imperial is a C body. Definitely not a B Body. B Bodies had a much narrower engine compartment. 62 was the first year for the B Body.For instance a long-ram intake will fit in a 61 and older Plymouth or Dodge, but requires the inner fenders to be cut on a 62 and up because of the downsize of the car. This downsize was done to compete with a supposed downsize from GM that never came about. You are gonna want to look for 413 headers as that is what came stock in the imperial and is basicly the same as a 440 externally.

I know what the a, b, & c designation is. I am just saying they started in 65. Befor that it was 50's jargon. Also the c body actually is narrower between torsion bars and that is why b body headers do not work. I am not sure if the Imperial is the same but I know 65 was the year of the c-bodies in Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth. There are some shorty headers that fit in the c body but they don't realy help with torque. That is what is needed to move a heavy car. Most folks try to find the H.P. manifold specific to the c- body. The driver side is different because of the tight torsion bar to steering column clearance. Passenger side is the same as b-body and there for easier to find but more expensive.
