headers 66 furyIII

I am new to the forum and recently aquired a 66 fury III. Even though it is a big car I cant believe no one has put a set of headers on one of these? I have a mild 440/727 and refuse to pay 750.00 for a set of headers. Any racers out there that have modified b body headers to work? It is a collum shifted car now but will be converting to floor shifter in future. Does that open up any options? And yes it does have power steering also. Eventually want to have a 450-500 horsepower street strip car and obviously the numbers matching thing is not an issue since the 440 is not the original motor anyway.

Welcome to the forum! It is my belief that a '66 Fury is a B body and the Fury C bodies started in '67.

C bodies I believe started in 1965. The Belvedere/Satalite were B bodies that year.

It is a c-body and once again the original question has been dodged no pun intended.

Ok! I can go with that!

Back when I had my first '68 C body, I looked for headers for the car. At the time, Hooker was the only manufacturer that had a listing for a Fury that I could find. My car was lowered and I didn't want anything hanging any lower so, I never got headers for the car.

Good luck!

Well after some exhaustive ( man im killin it ) research i think that the hedman 78030 headers will fit. they were 168.75 on amazon .com with no tax and free shipping. I will let every one know how it turns out.

I saw these ones on Jegs for 159.99 http://www.jegs.com/i/Hedman/500/78030/10002/-1 and it said they were for B&E bodies. Hope they work for ya. Looks like I will be building mine.

If you really want a set of headers and dont want to build your own with a kit, then i would get the tti c body headers. They are $671 for bare steel. I have used them in a small block application and when it comes to ease of installation and fit quality I haven't seen any others that compare. They are really expensive though. You could try to shim your engine to get a different header to fit.
