At Home

Another

Dash (like you didn't know that )

Well that's the good news, I will try to post up pictures of the bad news soon but suffice it to say that if there is anyone in the DC area that knows how to weld in floor pans I could sure use some help...

Thanks, the outside just has some body damage, nothing major. The frame rails are solid but the floor pans, especially the drivers front and passenger rear are real bad so I will have to replace them. There's also some rust in the trunk but nothing major, I may put in a whole new center section and not try to patch it - we'll see. I am going to try and post up some pictures I took yesterday after pulling the seats and carpets out but the two worst floor pans came out kinda blurry. The motor smokes but it has been sitting since 1991 (it has 1990 tags on it so I'm going to assume it got parked after that), and I am having to go through the brakes, new wheel cylinders in back and rebuilding the front wheel cylinders, also new shoes on front.

Here's the floor pans;

Right rear, you can see through to the box I had catching most of the pieces

Left rear

Right front

Driver side (obviously )

And what's left of the build sheet that I did find...

I'm thinking of just leaving what's on there now, or I might put some Magnum 500's on, not real sure yet - have lots to do elsewhere on the car.

The good thing is you can get metal for it ( new pans ). Any questions don't hesitate to ask man.
ps: don't forget the left hand threads on the front right wheel if the studs haven't been changed yet.

It only took one crank on the 4 way to remember the left hand threads I have to change out two lug bolts and someone said to put right handed bolt on, I like the novelty

I also like the fact that you have to use your key to lock the door - no keys locked inside your car with you standing outside feeling like a dummy, I remember that from my 68 Charger and liked that little feature......

Thanks 67 Polara, I have a MIG welder and am fairly descent with it. I have already started putting floor pans in, for what I have to work with (the repops), it is turning out ok, the important part is it will be solid again.

LOL, I have never tried TIG welding but it looks like I'd be doing the same thing you are with MIG, not quite getting the hang of it. I will post up some pics when I can, just too lazy to upload to photobucket

Thank you but the welding is almost done, I ran out of gas (the welder not me ), today but I only have two or three more small patches to do then the floor pan is done. I'm going to wait to do the Trunk some other time, probably after I get to Texas.

No problem, thank you for the thought though. I hope to have some pictures to post up soon of the completed repairs.

I am a bit confused as to where to drill for the gas pedal placement. The floor pan was too rusted out to know where it went from the factory, so if anyone has a picture or wouldn't mind taking/getting a picture for me it would certainly be appreciated....
