My 1964 Chrysler Newport Motor Swap

I picked up a 1964 Newport Convert. The motor that was in it was completely locked up and junk! So i bought a 1973 or 1974 (not sure) 440 motorhome motor for it. I am going to use the tranny in the car. Just wondering what torque converter I should put on it. Thanks, Joe

Will the one that is in the car work with the 440? I am not sure but I think the motor I pulled was a 361.

Keep the same converter and put a new seal in the pump in the transmission. The increase in torque from the 440 will have a small effect in stall but should be good to go...

Going that far I would suggest removing the trans too, give it a good service and re seal it

sometime it can help to turn the trans up on end to reinsert the converter put a small C clamp on the bell housing to keep it in..
