Restoring a 68 Fury II

I have a 68 Fury II 2 door hardtop that Im going to start restoring. Im starting with the engine/drivetrain just to get it driveable(exterior appearance can wait). As far as the engine I know its a 318 Narrow Block. Unknown if its a LA or poly, havent really dug into it yet besides clean out the interior/trunk.

What would be a good upgrade from the stock cam? I was looking on Summit and all the choices just seem to baffle me(my specialty is 94-04 V6 Mustangs, which have 3 main cams everyone goes with). Ill be doing a complete rebuild of the engine since all the rings are toast(someone tried converting it to a diesel engine).

Also if there is a cheap disc brake conversion for the front I would like to know about it.

What parts would be interchangable with a 80 something Cordoba? I can get one for a few hundred from my boss(he owns a garage/impound lot).

I know this is alot of questions but with being 20 and this is my first Mopar, I have alot.

a narrow block would be a 318 LA...a 5 bolt valve cover. back in the day when they went fram A to LA they called the polly a wide block..and the la a narrow. my question is how could someone convert it to diesel? a non turbo diesel is 19.0:1 compersion. how would they bypass the plugs? and dizzy??? all that would do is wash the rings out,(loose there seat),maybe put some oil in the bores and turn it over? as far as a cam if the engine is stock i wouldnt go over a 270 duration,, thats a BIG car for a little engine.. i have one..but its a 400 bored 20 over with stock 440 pistions in it, what baffles you with the summit cams? with a heavy car go with a tighter center line.. closer than a 110! oh and welcome!!! mopar rocks!

grab the disc brakes from the cordoba, knock out the ball joints and master cylinder and bolt them in to your fury, if engine and trans are good that should bolt right in, some parts are needed going from small block to big block

Yea, in '68 the Fury will have an LA. Those engines are pretty cheap and easy to rebuild. You can find RV kits on ebay that will up the already good torque numbers.
