727 Rebuild Question???

If I were to rebuild 727 Trany with performance parts would it handle 550-600HP Engine?

Are the any kits where I can use 727 trany Automatically AND Manually?

Thanks

It all depends on the parts that you use but ou can build a 727 to handle more than what you need. There are valvebodies out there that are full auto, auto/manual, and full manual.

it should hold up to what ever you can pound to it but as a rule always use synthitic tranny fluid and it will hold up alot better , i use it in my challenger and havent had any problems as of yet and im not easy on it by no means just use quality parts and not some jap brand k and make sure you use a tranny cooler as it will extend the life as well

Any decent tranny shop or speed shop should be able to get what you need.

Look up "Tflightpatty" on Ebay.

For some reason it doesnt come up, but I'll get his email address and do a search and post the link if i can.

I ALWAYS go to Pat Blaise for my parts/rebuilds. Pat makes his own 3 speed reverse manual valvebodys for very decent price.

I technically got mine for free from him for him sponsoring my car.

Both my dad, and I, and ALOT of friends have him rebuild our trans, and with his valvebodys.

Turbo Action makes alot of good parts for the 727. Really good valve bodies.
Cope Racing also makes some good parts and specializes in Mopar trannys.

jap brand k ? is that Kevlar .

I've heard lots of things . but it seems a few people say just use a tci bolt in sprag , shift kit & trans cooler & alloy trans pan . & everything else just new stock . any other goodies . I've noticed there's heaps of bits & pieces for chev & ford boxes but not much else apart from plates , bands & better front drums for ours .

those are good valve bodies for the street but if you are going to race the car get a grinner valve body. my boss has one in his valant that he has had no problems with it. it has been in the car for 12 straight racing seasons
