can this 70 rt conv be saved??
I am looking pretty hard for an old Mopar, Hopefully Challenger, or Cuda. My dad bought a TA new, and he and my grandpa have passed the fever on to me.
Anyway my uncle owns a 70 challenger RT convertible. He was driving it about 15 years ago, when he decided to tear it down and restore it. His wife was diagnosed with a brian tumer about a year into the resto. He stripped about everything off the car, and about 10 years ago the rolling chassis got pushed outside the barn. This is a numbers matching 383 4 speed car. The fenders, quarters, hood, interior, etc. are good, because they were left in the barn. The car is very, very rusty. I really love the car, but how do I know if It is to far gone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I will post some pics

first things first your dealing with a hot car i have always said if its broke it can be fixed if its made then it can be remade a car like this like i said is rather hot and hard to get I would like to see some pics if you got them as far as im concerned there isnt anything out there that cant be redone besides its been in the family for a while chop rust out and replace it. i dont know if your one to do it your self or have someone do it for you but if its rusted and gone like you said its somthing your going to want to do your self because it will probable cost allot to get the shell of the car back to where it can be safely put back together and driven.
hey 70tr i would fix it up and with all the new body panels and one piece floorboards out there on the market now all you need to do is take your time and BRING IT BACK TO LIFE and as Zach says it is a HOT car and will be worth a great bit of money but dont ever sell it but just enjoy all the looks you will get when its done .... there is alot of parts to make it new again and with the history of it i would do it
That car is deffinetly worth saving. Challenger is right though, it will be a real project. A similar '70 r/t just sold around here for quite a bit of money, and it was done right.
Granted you might never sell it but still thats quite a car you have on your hands. Don't let it go to waste.
