On take off when I start to accelarate there is a drop in rpms, feels like about to stall and than they go back to normal with more gas...

magoo -

Assuming the timing is correct, rebuild the carb (and clean EVERYTHING). Accelerator pump, power valve problem the squirters getting clogged etc could cause that. Also make sure the flow circuits aren't clogged and the the pumps are adjusted corectly.

Quick refresher ...

1100 is too high if you are an auto
your carb. is fine
i'd just take the time to try and tune it in
it'll be cheaper than a new one

Talkin bout carbs is there a difference on installing the carb in with a spread board gasket (340 oem) compared to a square board gasket????? could that cause my car to be running rich cause i think when they installed my eddy thay used a squre board...

i honestly cant see that it would make it run rich.. the gasket could rip and get sucked into head.(if i understand your question right) but it would just burn up and get pushed out. if the gasket ripped under the flange (unlikely) it would run lean.
