Hose issues

I have been having issues with my upper radiatior hose. I have melted several at the inlet to the radiatior. And by several i mean about 8! i have no idea why this is happening, i have no temperature issues, or a thermostat (i know i should) so my motor rarly every reaches normal operating temps, but with out fail every couple of weeks i melt a hose in the same place. I have not been able to find anything on this subject, and was hoping some one could tell me. Thanks. oh, it's a 68' 383. i am not sure of the specs of the radiator.

Can you post a picture of the burnt hose, preferably while it's still on the car???

I will upload one when i get home. The hose is melting on the underside, like closer to the fan blades than anything else. It is always in the same spot. i have discovered out of necessity, that using a spare lower radiator hose in place of an upper hose seems to last longer, or maybe i am just able to cut the bad part off and make is seem that it lasts longer. thanks

Is it at all possible that the fan is hitting the radiator hose???

You could go to a steel braided os SS radiator hose, but somehow I think the problem is elsewhere.
