Touchy Steering

I recently bought a 72 Rallye Challenger, pretty decent ole car, only issue is the steering is really sensitive. Also the wheel turns to the right real slow on its own when I start the engine. The car came with a new steering box from Year One. Should I just change it out or is there a fix for the box thats on it?

Thanks for any help!

If it turns on its own ? It needs adjustment -- Centering of the control valve. IT WILL never be rack & Pinion that most people are used to.. A good alignment will help

I agree...There is a valve on top of the steering box that needs to adjusted it is held on with 2 bolts and the high pressure hose goes in to it.. Engine off loosen the bolt just enough to be able to slide the valve very little, it doesnt have to move much to make a big difference. start the engine and observe the steering wheel movement it should not move at all.. I would see if you could find a manual or something on line about how to do it so it might be clearer to you.. Bill
