put an a-833 four speed in it...
the 904 can be made stout enough to handle a serious 225

When you say 904 I suppose that you mean the stock 3 speed. No, the tranny is completley original. I wanted a four speed or a five speed auto for the MPG's and to have a nicer ride. Are there any that will fit a 225 or do I have to get a adapter or a different bell housing?

My new toy has an 833....my other toy used to have a 400 hp 340 roller motor that the 904 handled just fine....racers still use the 904 over the 727 to reduce the amount of weight...

Look for a later trans. They offered a 4 speed that was a 3 speed with an overdrive in the 6 cyl cars in the Volare /Aspen line
