Want Power steering in my -70 D100
Hello all mopar guys!
As i understand Dodge pickups dont have power steering between -60 to -71 right?
At least not in the 2wd once?
I have been looking all over for some info about it, but in Sweden where i live there arent many Dodge guys sadly
Perhaps some of you guys can help me get a step closer to getting pw steering.. Whit a 440 and 350-400hp i desperatly needs it when i drift away whit smoking tiers!
Any other models whit simmular contrucktion i can use?
Do i have to rebuild the whole front end??
Can i take the front end from a -72 truck for instans or maybe from a van?
Thanks for all the help and pointers i can get!
Ill put a link to youtube that the prev owner uploaded so you can see it in action : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI4K7QEC5MQ

You will need all the brackets to mount the PS pump to the motor, lines and a PS box. I believe everything else bolts right in, but I don't know that much about the first or second gen Dodge D series trucks. I think that the frames may be different between the second and third gen series.

How does it look on -72 and up? They have coil springs right? and thus whole different front end i suppose? Most power steering geraboxes have the arm on the right side as well.. Hard to find one that fits in the frame to.. as the stock one.. Plz post a pick of anything helpfull

Here is an article that I found while searching on google for power steering boxes for your truck. This guy is pretty good.

With what he did and depending on the steering knuckles on the front axle, you could easily do something like this or change out the steering system that you have now for a complete hydraulic system (as long as those are streeet legal where you are).

Hydraulic steering aint street legal in sweden
Yeah i read his article few weeks back.. But there must be an easer way..??
To get a steering like him it would cost me a fortune to make it street legal as well.. You cant modify that much whit out needing a permit that says its ok.. And that cost a lot over here
You got any pic on the 4x4 front end?
Looks like a chevy gearbox could fit.. If i flip on the side and make new bracket for it.. And have a new pitarm made.
