RE: 98 Ram 2500 2wd w/Cummins 24V ISB engine....
when i 1st turn the key on the lift pump fails to come on. I have replaced the fuel pump relay and done some troubleshooting.
I have come to the conclusion that the ony way i can get the lift pump to start is to actually bump the starter, then it will come on and develop 12PSI. I have already replaced the fuel filter that was one year old.
If i put the (automatic) trans in gear and hit the starter so it doesn't turn, the lift pump fails to start. If i put it in either park or N. and just touch the key to start position, it takes right off. Anybody know what is failing here so that the pump will start when i 1st turn the key to on???
