It all depends on how far you want to tear into the motor and "rebuild it". You can just tear it apart and replace the gaskets and some bearings, all that and rings, all that and pistons plus cam, etc.. Also are you going to be doing this yourself or have an engine shop do it for you?

Will right now the top half is apart. The engine has like 200 000 miles on. So it makes sense to do it no then let. No ponit of doing it half *** right? Thoses estimates where just for rebuild kits I was thinking of doing it myself.

I saw that the ones from Summit were listed only up to 1996. I don't think there was any difference in Magnum motors though from 1996 and 1999.

Intake and plentum gaskets, head/valve cover gaskets and rebuild the heads. If the block is out, you might as well replace all the bearings and rings. Look into Jeggs as well. I'm not sure who else sells Magnum rebuild kits but I'm sure if you Google it and look under "shopping" you'll find some.

Why now just get a remanufactured engine from Jasper Engines and then core your old motor back to them?
