radiator to aux trans cooler hose

Hey guys, I'm new here just picked up my first Ram. A 2001 1500 with the 5.9L

well long story short, it has a new radiator and the dealer never hooked up the trans cooler that was built into the radiator, only the auxilary cooler, so i've decided i'm going to tackle that myself a fix it proper.

I went to the dodge dealer today and picked up the hose and connector,

hose p/n 4883317ab
connector p/n 52028625ac

my question is.... does that connector need to be crimped onto the hose?

i pressed it on the end of the hose and now i can't pull it off, it feels like a Chinese finger trap lol. I'm just unsure if that is all i have to do to use it, or if it has to be crimped.

hopefully someone can chime in.

later
