440 times

hit the track this weekend with my aspen ( full int. street car)
big block 440
mild cam
eddies carb and intake
headers
2500-2800 stall
put down 12.2 on aver average .
went to the quater finals when my skinnies slid on the coverter and set the red light. .. but all in all had a good time and happy with the car.,

Great job!

Didn't get there as me and the boys were putting up a shed to make room in the garage. The Demon is almost ready so we'll be seeing you soon.

Looks good, what were your 60ft times?

As unpopular as the Volare/Aspens are I've always liked them. I saw an article in Car Craft about 1980, where a guy put a 440/727 and a B body Dana in a Volare and ran mid 10s. I put mine together in the mid 80s.


Yours looks like its working well as a package, what rear springs and shocks are you using, axel 8 1/4 or 8 3/4?

its an 8 3/4 with 456's
just a stock shock and leaf spring set up . .but im gonna change it up to a 50/50 shocks in the back and 90/10's in the front
also only running a mickey thompson drag radial

Shop around, you may find some double adjustable shocks for a reasonable price.

ie Viking (http://www.vi-king.com/) , Penske , etc.

I started to do something like that, 77 RR Was collecting parts Had motor,trans car Already had a 8 3/4 & SS springs Ran out of funds.Should have kept it. Ended up with a 67 Coronet for a while..
