Holy Hemi!! 2020 Horsepower on Pump Gas!!

We just pulled this engine off of the dyno. The customer was hoping to make 1800 on pump gas and 2000 on race gas. Needless to say, it is capable of quite a bit more than that and we did a pretty decent de-tune before it will go out the door. Here are a couple of "sneak peek" photos. I will try to get the dyno video posted as soon as possible. We are by no means professional videographers up here, so it takes me a few tries to get uploaded right. Special thanks goes out to all of the folks at ProCharger, Chiseled Performance, C & S Specialties, Indy Cylinder Head, JE Pistons, Total Seal Rings for making the high quality components that helped make this possible.

welcome to the forum!

Those are some outrageous numbers. Why de-tune it? What is the customer going to put it in?

I wonder what it would do without the turbo.

I bet 1200-1300 hp no problem with timing adjusted for no turbo. Thats one crazy motor. I'd like to see the heads a little closer.

I feel bad for the tranny and rear axle going behind that beast.

SMRE - Do you know what the customer is using for a tranny with that motor?

I would think a Lenco or the like. It's gonna take some pounding attached to that...lol

Thanks for the welcome! The customer is putting it in his street/strip Daytona Clone car. He was only looking for 1800 on the pump gas. It made the 2020 on the the first pump gas pull, with the wrong size headers, maxxed out intercooler etc. So, while there is a lot more power in this engine, it's not what the customer wanted. Later down the road, when he's ready he will be able to turn it up more. As tempting as it would be to dyno this at it's full capabilities, so we could tell everyone and just see for ourselves, at the end of the day the engine belongs to the customer and we want to deliver a fresh product. Not one that had 30 passes on the dyno etc. So, as soon as those numbers came up, it was time to de-tune.

Thanks for the welcome.

I have a little bit of video done and posted. https://moparforums.com/forums/f32/h...191/#post11291

We build a lot of engines. Of all types. Everything from circle track N/A Fords to SS/AH to pulling trucks, high performance street, boats, NOS, Supercharged, N/A, Olds, Pontiac, Chevy, Ford and of course Mopar.

This engine is in the ballpark of 45k.

Hey, we do a lot of everything. We won't say no to a 400hp job, by any means. E-85 has a lot of potential. We have a few customers using it with great success..

It is utterly amazing the kind of power they are getting. That would probably beat an 80's funny car at the strip
