The season is over and three new champions have been crowned... And the fourth is a new team all but the driver.
Tony Schumacher in Top Fuel... This team was all new personel at the beginning of the year. Last year's championship team left with Allen Johnson to form his new team.... So with all new members many gave last years champion little chance to defend his title. But he won by only 2 points but that was good enough.... Quite a feat for such a new team....
Robert Hight has won his first Funny Car crown. Driving a Ford Mustang out of the John Force stable. Robert and crew chief Jimmy Prock came to life in the countdown and won the title... Ashley Force also out of the Force stable finished second. The first woman to finish that high in Funny Car....
Mike Edwards won his first Pro Stock title on Saturday when he had the quickest time in qualifying in round 4. The quickest time gets 3 points and then the second quickest gets 2 points and the third gets 1. Greg Anderson was eliminated on the qualifying run on Saturday... This is the first title for Edwards and well deserved... Edwards has doninated this class all year....
Hector Arana won his first Pro Stock Motorcycle title.. He had a battle right down to the wire with Eddie Krawick riding the Screaming Eagle Harley. But the Lucas Oil Buel of Arana won out and this was his first title...
Just a side note John Shaul won Stock eliminator in his 64 Plymouth Fury..
We have new plans for the sportsman reports for next year. We are going to split them up that way you don't have to look all the way thru all the reports just to see one class.... Any other ideas or suggestions please reply.... Mack
