Excellent rant. I would like to point out that gas has a tax built in already, so if you buy a gas guzzler you're already going to have to pay higher taxes. This is bullshit. This is kind of like what they used to do to diesels. Then they added the diesel tax into the price per gallon at the pump, like how gasoline is.

 

That is exactly right! It's just more political BS.

 

There is already a gas guzzler tax on any NEW vehicle purchase that doesn't meet cafe standards
