They were, according to their Commander, "Over-zealous" to help people! They could have just as easily stayed at home, and not answered the phone. But National Guardsmen know that we ARE CITIZEN soldiers! They are there for their neighbors!

Awesome, as a National Guard Commander, I can see what went wrong here. You have the new guys, I mean brand new just out of Basic and AIT, and they just follow exactly what they were told to do, forget about that inkling where you think maybe the water is too deep, they think they will get in trouble if they mention that so they do it anyway which results in more trouble.

There are bigger trucks they could have been using, but still you can see how deep that water is.
