killing grass
killing grass
i want to stone in my drive way [its slowly turning into a mud pit i wont be surprised one day to find a pig out wollering in it] my problem is the grass keeps growing and i cant get rid off it does anybody no a good way of killing the grass for good short of setting it on fire
Use a weed killer, then cover the whole area you plan on stoning with a heavy, dark plastic. I'm assuming you're talking like paving stones and not gravels. If you're using gravel, it will cut the plastic, and the weeds/grass will come back. It will still keep the growth to a minimum tho and each year you can plan on using some sort of weed killer at least once to knock them back. I use the stuff that says it's good for 4 months, and I normally get 3 out of it, on the weeds I apply it to, but they grow back in another location, so I end up applying about 2-3 times each spring/summer
Round up is what I use on my gravel parking area. It worked well, but will need to be applied 3 or 4 times during the Spring and early Summer. If you plan to cover with black visquine, give a good dose of round up on a sunny day, then wait a few days, then put down your cover. That ought to do it.
I seen in garden shop a roll of what looks to be black paper mesh of some sort. Your suppose to roll it out in a garden before (under) the black dirt to prevent weeds an such from growing. Any garden shop or nursery should be able to help.

I keep putting tons of 21AA limestone on my driveway, and the next year its gone. Some farmer in China has gotta be wondering where all these ******* rocks are coming from!
