My Work Ford Transit Bent Con Rod.

The fuel injection nozzle failed open filling the cylinder, hydraulicing the cylinder, bending the connecting rod. They replaced the engine under warranty with no charge to the company.

My understanding is it is a non return hi pressure system so when it failed open it got full volume of fuel. It went puff puff went 2 blocks and then stopped. Never heard of such a poor non fail safe design, Go Figure.

I wonder how many times that has happened ? I know I would be pissed Maybe another class action/recall.. I would think low fuel pressure would shut the motor down, I guess not !!
