Update: My dad says thank you to everyone for their kind words and so do I, after a very heated conference call between my brother Cam a retired Air Force Col. and my brother Al a Sherriff in Nevada with the Detective who is in charge of this case all charges against my dad are being dropped, the Crown attorney wont even touch it and can't believe the police could be so heartless to charge him in the first place. My brothers informed him of the years our dad spent in Vietnam and how they are lucky not to have 3 in the morgue instead of in the hospital, sometimes I hate living in Canada and this is one reason why, back home they treat our dad like a hero and he hates it "was only doing what my Country asked I don't need praise for it" - that's always been bullcrap to us kids we know what he did and he very rarely talked about it until my brothers went to serve in the gulf war, it was a long silence and he had lots of demons to set free. I have read most of what he has written on this forum and not once does he mention the stack of medals & ribbons he was awarded, understandable being as this is a auto forum not a war forum, I will tell you all that we could not have had a better set of parents growing up then what we had, and out of pure respect for them all 7 kids have served one way or another in the Armed Forces, myself & Mallory were navy Lt. , Dana retired Army Maj. Cam & Carter both Air Force Col. and Rod & Al both Capt. in the Army, plus mom was also a Lt. in the Navy nurse corps when they met. Dad always hated the fact the whole house out ranked him but in our eyes he was a 5 star Gen. and nothing but, I just wanted to tell you things about him that he never will and trust me he showed us lots, my friends played with dolls while I rebuilt carbs with my dad and so I have earned my name Holly - we were all a little shocked when mom died and he bought the van, this is a man who would not drive anything with less the 400hp so when he came on this forum and got hot rod fever again I contacted all the kids and we decided to buy that car for him, 3 weddings and 6 of us through collage well it was the least we could do for a man who never thought of himself it was always us first.
This forum has really been the best thing for my dad to get on with his life and he can offer so much knowledge to this forum and not be on a power trip about it, not his style at all and he did raise 7 mechanics successfully - We thank you all for your concern and kind words, we will never forget it, Holly, Cam, Dana, Carter, Rod, Mallory & Axel
P.S. another senior stabbed in a robbery last night in the east end of Toronto, scum bag should be strung up by the ***** and shot.

Me too, very glad to hear the charges were dropped. Tell Sarge to keep kicking a$$ and taking names! The offer for the phone call stands it Sarge is good with it and you are willing to PM a phone number.

Jake is a lucky man to have so many watching his back. It sounds like you all have an awesome family.
