Question 318 to 383 Engine Swap

Hey all, I have a 1965 Plymouth Fury III Convertible with a SB 318 wide block and a 727 trans. I would like to upgrade my ride to a BB 383 stroker but not sure exactly what I'm going to need to make the swap. Does anyone have a "How to..." guide for this kind of swap? Do I need to swap out my torsion bars for bigger ones? I will upgrade the rear with a 9 3/4, put disc brakes all the way around and add power steering. Will the drive shaft have to be resized? Lots of questions and looking forward to comments going forward. I'm just about to retire and want to get this done on my own but need a list I can go by...Can someone please help me out?...Thank you all!

There are probably guides you can google, but like everything else on the web, they are mostly just differing opinions.

At the bare minimum, you'll need conversion motor mounts and a BB tranny.
The exhaust will have to be modified (replaced).

I ran (and raced) a 440 on 318 torsion bars in a B body for decades with no trouble, but given the age of the car, the entire suspension may need an over haul.
Can't speak to the drive shaft, I didn't have to, but all applications are different.
If you have an 8 3/4 rear in there, don't waste your money on the rear.

I dont remember 100%.... But i think the K-Members are different for the small block and big block.... However, I think 440 Source sells conversion mounts of many styles as far as I recall.

Bob -

Don't know about 65's, but in the 70's the K members were the same.
Still using the 318 K member on my 440.

I'm pretty sure early B body K frames are specific to A block and B block /6 also.
