62 New Yorker Help

Hello all. Glad to be here because lord knows I need some real motor heads to help me. I have a 1962 Chrysler New Yorker I was blessed to get from my friend. I found out that the heads on my 413 are actually from a 383. My friend nlovern actually posted questions about this and it seems that there aren't any reason why it shouldn't work. Now if you look at my pictures, after we put on the intake manifold, there is a gap that I assumed is for air flow. There has been some concern that it is a water flow chanel. When I was cleaning the heads I noticed that that specific area was covered over with bondo. If anyone wants to take a look and comment I would appreciate it. Thanks

Normal, it's an exhaust passage to warm up the intake manifold, on some it is part of the EGR system

That crescent shaped gap is a dead end passage that allows air to insulate the oil above it from the hot exhaust gases below and should not be covered.

Thank you so much. When redoing the motor, it is a different beast than I am used to.
