73' Charger in field
Hey guys, newbie here in Texas. Wanted to show you guys something that I found, I just dont know how much to offer the guy, or if its even worth the time. I found this 73' Charger SE sitting in a field here in Texas. Its missing a lot, but I just wanna know if this would be a good car for my first project. Aside from the missing panels and glass, etc. the body looks pretty solid. Floors and trunk are issues of course. I am wanting to do kind of a restomod, tribute, type build with a crate motor is what I had in mind. No matching number this, and all that, I just want a fun, cool, fast driver to kick around in. Is this thing too far gone for a first project for your average dude??
Here is the vin number I decoded:
WP29P3A196824
Model Year: 1973
Model: Dodge/Coronet Charger
Body Style: 2dr Sports Hardtop (fastback)
Price Style: Premium
Engine: 400 1-4BBL V8 High Performance
Assembly Plant: Lynch Road, Michigan
Consecutive Unit Number: 196824
Any feedback you guys may have, much appreciated

First things first have you thought about how much money would go into restoring the car have you looked at other 73 chargers on the internet and have you checked out what body parts go for bumpers floor pans and interor just to run it buy you by the looks yes it seems great but a mopar is not cheap to restore even restoreing it crapy whitch i dont recomend because of resale if your going to keep the car for the rest of your life then restore it the way you want it but if you plan on getting rid of it down the road you might want to do a little bit extra because you wont get a whole lot out of it and needless to say youd lose your but on what you did put into it a car like that from the pics $1000 to 2,000 dollars would be fair but I would ask him first what he thought he would want out of it he may sell it cheaper due to rusted out floor pans and missing parts

That thing is not worth screwing with-----UNLESS-----
You can get a complete car and for some reason need this body shell, as in, the other complete car is a rusto, and this one is not
Or---maybe decode the VIN and fender tag, and see if this was a rare option car.

I wouldnt mess with that one too much. Unless you want to get me the bumpers (and the rest of it as a matter of fact) as a birthday present.
I picked up my 73 in running condition complete for $1500. hard to believe that was 4 years ago already, but yo ucould prolly find one in much better shape than that for about 3k that will save you 10k in repairs.
Unless you need a parts car, I would stay away from it. Its in fairly good shape, but its gonna cost a lot to get those missing parts.
