thats sweet. what motor is in your charger (guessing 440)? I have a 73 that im working on building a SB for
|
Yes a ballanced 440 with KB coated pistons and set up to map a 68 440 HP I havent fired it yet but should run good.I will put the same in the bird project.
What small block are you running? |
Im in the process of building a 360. My 318 broke. I was going to upgrade to a 440, but with it being a 73 I was going to have to find a whole new K-member, and I didnt feel like going through the hassle. Im shooting for 300 HP out of the thing when it is done, which is completely reasonable. I have realy thrown around the idea of stroking it, but have decided not to after looking at the finances. I am eventually going with a 6.1 (or 6.4 If chrysler can get their head out of their ...) so this 360 is only temporary. If I really like it, Ill prolly find a dart to put it in or something like that.

I don't understand why you don't just build the 360 and be done with it. You can get respectable power out of a properly done 360. Just make sure you have the "balance" correct---360s are externally balanced. I don't know whether the difference is in the flex plate or the converter---I suspect it's in the converter. Any decent auto transmission shop should be able to answer that for you.
I ran a stock 340 with headers in my old '70 RR body for a number of years. It would stay right with most stock RR 383's It got excellant mileage It was a lot of fun to open the hood and display that 'ittle bitty engine down in there It's lighter than a BB |
The bigger the motor the faster the car the more horse power more respect on the street and strip at least thats how its around here
