Gear troubles
I've got an 1975 b200 manual column shift with the 5.8ltr. Yesterday while out and about I took a tight corner on full lock and heard a grinding noise and after that couldn't get it out of Gear and the shifter now feels real loose , luckily it was a gear I could get home still using. It's had a full engine rebuild and new clutch, clutch feels fine and no noise coming from the gearbox. Any ideas why it's stuck in Gear? And what I need to Do?.

Over time the column shifter will get sloppy and sometimes allow the trans to get into two gears at one time. You will need to get under the truck and move the levers on the trans to back to neutral. It might require you to remove the linkage from the trans, it's a good time to look over all the linkage for the shifter and take care of worn parts.
