Hello
Hi there. I just purchased a '68 Newport Custom 2dr HT(383, 2bbl) and am trying to decide what route to take as far as a restoration project. Can't decide wether to do it all original or add some aftermarket hp. Any ideas on the availability of oem vs. aftermarket parts availability/costs?

Welcome!
Aftermarket parts are usually more wide spead and available than OEM parts. As for the pricing, I think over all, aftermarket parts will be a little more money only because of what they offer as an "upgrade". BUT! OEM parts can rack up the $$$ as well depending on how authentic you want the car to be.

Howdy,
Nice choice I have a 4 door New Port. Great car. Most drive line and suspension parts are still available over the counter, but you need a counter guy that knows how to look things up.
Personally I like the mild custom. Kind of easier and don't have to make any one happy but yourself. Plus I like to be different.
got pictures?

Thanks for all the welcomes and the advice.
Sorry I haven't gotten back on here for a while but I ended up moving cross country and somewhere along the way I managed to pick up a second '68 Newport 2 door hardtop. So now that I have 2 I can do one as a resto and one however I like
