Smile Hello from Finland

Hi there Mopar folks, here is a new member to this forum from icecold Finland ( -17 Celsius right now). My Mopar is safely garaged in a heated garage for the winterseason and I will not wake her up until a couple of weeks before 1st of May. Looking for LD4B intake manifold.

Have a nice day !

Thanks everybody, I'll try to put up some pictures as soon I found out how to to get them here. It's a lot more difficult to do compared to swapping an engine in an old mopar. Back in 1978 I throw out the old sixbanger from my 1955 Savoy and put in 1964 318 along with the transmission, driveshaft and rearaxle, no problem. Today its a hell of a problem to move a picture from one place to another on my PC.....am I too old for this or ?????. Well if nothing else helps... I have to ask my son for help... he is working with big Princess motoryachts every day and they are 100% computerized ( did I get that word right )... phu... I will also include some pictures of my 1962 Opel Rekord Coupe, sure You do not have many of them in the USA. See You....

Hello again Mopar people, just wanted to let You know I just bought a very nice LD4B intake manifold on E-bay at USD 165.00 + shipping USD 75 to Finland. Now I have to find a good Edelbrock 600 cfm carb ( 1405 ). Or?????? Do You have any better choice. I have tried to find out as much info as possible about carbs and it seems to me that this carb will work fine.
The 318 is othervise stock at this moment but I'm planning on to get a better cam and headers. I'm not trying to build any big horsepower plant, just to get something of a combination of good economy and a few horses more. the fuel costs about 1,89 USD per liter right now so one have to get the best out of it. (no idea to burn expensive fuel in a small engine with less than 100 Hp......so : the higher the price...the bigger the engine
I have tried to put up some pictures of my car ....but...not yet.
Ill be back soon....the intake manifold is on its way to Finland right now....

Edelbrock ??????

Hi Moparfriends, just received the intake manifold. Found some good Edelbrock
600 cfm on E bay, squarebores, asked the sellers do this carb fit on the LD4B and got info from several people that the "normal" sguarebore carb do not fit this intake.????? One seller told me that I have to get an adapter. Can anybody tell me what is the problem. Was not this intake manifold made for these carbs. Was there back then a special carb that directly did fit to this manifold. It was probably made by Chrysler Racing Division for use in competition cars, so have I being told. Of course its a good thing to mount an adater/spacer between carb and manifold to prevent heat from rising up to the carb, but there is also a risk that the airfilter case will hit the hood if its too high. I have also checked a lot of Mopar forums to find out what carb to use, Holley, Edelbrock, Carter AFB but right now I just dont know because some people says Holley, others say Edelbr. and some say nothing at all. Allright, perhaps a majority votes for the Edelbrock.
The good thing is, when searching for info about the LD4B intake on the net, an absolute majority says that this is the absolutely best intake manifold made for the 318. Many sources says that I should get heads with the numbers 302 as last digits in the casting number, that are found on newer Magnum engines, because they have heart shaped combustion chambers, also called " swirl" and they are the best heads available. Well, the sun goes up and down and we learn new things every day, life is interesting.
My best to all of You out there.....
Rune
