Need HEMI info!!!
I want to start off by saying HELLO ALL! I am a new member, but not new to the site (as I have came here many times looking for info) and not new to Mopar. I am soon going to buy a 49 dodge coupe from my grandpa as a hotrod in need of restoration. I know that my Uncle has sectioned the front end so that it would hold a 360, but I want to drop in a HEMI. MY question is...What do I do to find out if I have the room/ suspension for a HEMI? Also when I go motor hunting, how can I identify a HEMI? Sorry for the long thread, and thanks for the help!

I think you may have problem with the tie rods wanting to hit the hemi oil pan. V8 suspension was usually different, does away withthe one long tie rod and has an additional idle arm and two short rods.
You might want to watch the steering rod action once you get the old engine out be sure there wil be clearance in turns. Thats when the problems occur.
And left exhaust manifold may hit or rub the steering box.
