New Dodge 4x4 owner

Hey folks, my name is Adrian and I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada. I just bought my first dodge
98 Ram laramie slt 2500 4x4 .
I'll work on getting some pictures up soon.. I'm pumped.. this thing is a beast and is in emaculate shape inside and out...
I've joined the forum to find out about anything I can about the truck... any problem history, mod ideas... (especially tires/wheels as I work in a tire plant and get free tires !).. Please feel free to pm me about anything pertaining to this year & model... I'm excited to learn.

This is a US truck and has 235,000 on the odo... the owner tells me that there was a new engine (360mag) put in at just over 180,000mi as it started to smoke pretty heavy.. so.. just over 50,000 on the motor. The truck is super clean... and pretty tight on the road, the body is great. I am noticing some "dancing " of the back end when going over washboard bumps on the road... and also some " shuddering " when the brakes are applied.. I'm wondering if I should take it to a dealer/garage and have a detailed isnpection done just to be sure there are no hidden problems with the truck... I'm wondering what to pay the most attention to.. anyway... again, feel free to send me all the tips/advice you have..

Looking forward to being part of the forum..

Cheers

Adrian.

Welcome!

For the brakes, have the runout checked as the rotors may be warping. For the back end, is it with or without a load?

Be mindful of the track bar on the front end of these trucks. They are a pain to change out and usually go once every 1-2 years. There are upgraded track bar kits out there but you need to look around.

Welcome aboard Adrain glade ya' found us , as Tim says the track bar usually last a year or so and when replacing as it seems i do every year I got mine from a parts supplier that warrenties it for the life of the truck so make sure you find one that does the same but keep it greased as they check that before giving you another but its well worth it to pay a little extra the first time and also i would make sure you get the brakes checked asap , new pads and rotors are not that bad of a price around here and make sure your calipers are not sticking as most times the pistons get pitted in our weather seasons from cold to warm as they sweat and pit so have a good brake service person look into them also K and again welcome aboard and were waiting on the pic's LOL
