New guy with a 69 Roadrunner
Hello everybody. I'm an Army medic and overseas contractor and I recently bought a 69 Roadrunner from a family member. Sweet deal. I've never owned a muscle car like this and I'm completely unfamiliar with it, although I once had a 92 Mustang. Under the hood I don't know if I'm looking at a carburetor or a portable EKG. I'm going to need a lot of help and advice working on this beauty. I do know it was a 380 upgraded to a 440, and it has 15" tires on the back and probably 12" tires up front. I think it has a posi trac in the back. The original owner obviously built this for the 1/4 mile. It's 4 spd, loud as artillery, fast and powerful, eats Mexicans and speaks German.
This is going to be an ongoing project for my son and me. I'm open to any advice anyone with a similar vehicle can provide. Hooah.

Welcome to the forum.... There is a ton of knowledge on here and all are glad to share... Time spent with your son on a project like this is time WELL spent..... Make sure you take a lot of pictures... In the future you will be glad you did.... Be sure to check out the Mopar of the Month contest... See the sticky for the simple rules and then you can help choose the monthly winner.....
I was with an Army Reserve Psyop unit in San Antonio. We did a deployment to Iraq a couple of years ago and then I came back as a contractor. I'm home now for a couple of months. I'm going to go to work on this mean machine with my son.
Not a war zone, eh? Columbine, Virginia Tech, just about any McDonalds or Wal-Mart, that internet cafe, the IRS office in Austin and just recently Aurora, Colorado. Every zone is a potential war zone and I'm prepared. It's funny how every victim says the same thing you just did, on the 10 o'clock news. Guess what, I'm airborne, not a victim. Calling the police isn't efficient when you're looking at a 4 minute response time. My security system reacts in under a second and does 2900 fps. How does your work?
i have a shotgun but do not flaunt it
my shotgun takes care of me on the farm just fine but i dont flaunt it or pose with it to try and look cool...this is all my opinion btw...some little kid got shot and killed by his friend in my town the other week for what its worth... of course you can do whatever you want, i like your car i have no intention of having agun control debate here ,sorry to muddy up the thread
