Hi. I am a mother of 2 girls, 3 mopars and married lol. I came across this forum looking for parts for our 65 chrysler newport 2dr hardtop. I've never joined a forum before but figured it could be helpful with parts, etc.
So we own a 65 newport 2dr ht, 66 coronet 500 2dr ht and a 68 cuda fastback. The newport has a 383 bb, 727 torque flight tranny and looked great, until our nephew got ahold of it. Subsequently, it now has a dented ds front fender, a ps fender skirt that was ran over and a scratches and small dings along the ps from him scraping up against a tree/sign, (not sure which, I don't think we ever got the complete truth). But needless to say, it is not quite as pretty as it was prior to december 2010.
We have had this car posted for sale/trade on CL, but as time has passed, and we didn't like any of our trade offers, I want to keep the car. It is a very rare car to find not all rusted and a good driver. The 383 with dual exhause sounds great and it floats down the road with a finger on the steering wheel. I want to fix it up in time.
Our coronet is taking priority right now, needing a paint job and new interior, but I'd like to find a ds (possibly ps also) front fender for the newport, possibly a front bumper and ps fender skirt. So if anyone near AZ has these items that will fit a 65 newport, I'd be very interested. I have found the parts a few times, unfortunately, they are way out of state and I know the shipping would kill me.
I have access to a 66 new yorker that I could use the bumper, fenders and fender skirts from, I believe, but I'd really like to keep it newport, not new yorker, since how the 66 bumpers, fenders and grill is different. Anyway, it is something I'm considering.
So I thank you for reading my lengthy post and I have posted pics of the newport, before and after the damage. I have many pics.
Thank you

Welcome to the forum!
I'm sure that there are Chrysler people here that know all of the little nuances and differences between a Newport and a New Yorker. I'll keep my eyes out here in the SF/Bay Area for you.
My thoughts on the skirts are, that if the body lines are the same.... get them!

Did you try calling moparcity (moparcity.com)??? Their website isn't very helpful but the guys there are, if you call. There are also a number of other mopar "salvage" yards with city blocks of stock.

Archer, Thank you. I've been looking online and actually my next step is to check local salvage yards. That probably would have been the logical thing to do first lol.
I'm not sure if I've been on moparcity.com or not, but I may need to check it out and call them.
Thank you!

MReeves, I'll get out and shoot some photos of both the coronet and the cuda in the next couple of days and post them. The cuda doesn't even have a motor or tranny yet, but overall is in real good shape. Some surface rust, but that's it. My husband has a soft spot for these cars also. He wants to make it a cool hotrod, nothing fancy, just pure hotrod.
Thanks for your reply!

Welcome and do I have the site for you..it's in my neck of the woods near Austin Texas but it is an all Mopar junk yard...I have been there twice myself...remember that greyhound buslines is a great shipper for larger parts...I know a guy who ships entire floor boards using them...
