New owner of a 71 Fury Gran Coupe
Hello everyone,
I just acquired a 71 Fury Gran Coupe 4 door with the paisley top/interior and 383 engine. This car has been sitting in a garage for more than 20 years and other than a few scratches and a motor that has been randomly tinkered with it's all there and in perfect condition (for a car in it's late 30's).
I have lots of questions about this car and would love some advice about getting her running. I'll post more questions later but for now, Hello!

That's exactly what I want to do with her!!! I'll get out there this weekend and take some pics. I want to get her to the point where we can take her on long road trips and not have to worry about her. My wife also asked that it be low key, so when a kid pulls up next to her at a light in a little import, she can smoke the tires until he chokes.
It's a four door so I'd like to suicide the rear doors and paint her black. Thoughts? Also, what do you think of putting in a 440? Or maybe a more modern engine?

Pics of my Fury
Here's a couple of pics of the fury. I think the first thing on my list would be to find a 440. Any suggestions on places to look?

It has the paisley top and interior. I can't wait to get this thing on the road!

Craigslist! Go to auto parts and search "440" in your local and surrounding areas and you should find tons from $400-$700 average. I dont know your budget, or your skills, but there are other options too! Old Dodge motorhomes from the 60's-70's had alot of 440's. Dirt cheap. Some folks just want them towed away! They come with H.D. trannys too.

there is nothing wrong with running a 383, they are good engines, the pictures I saw it looks like a very clean car. I would change the fluids clean the fuel system and run the wheels off it
