New powerwagon

Hi, I just joined the site today. My grandfather in 1978 bought a new half ton orange powerwagon with a 440 in it. I have been looking for one for awhile now and recently found and bought a 1978 orange power wagon exactly like my grandfathers. It is a/ was a one owner truck even had the factory and dealership paperwork with it. I have a few questions I'd like to ask on the site here. One this truck has a 360 in it, I'd like to go back with the 440. What all is needed to do this, will transmission bolt up to 440, or need to change bell housing or all together different trans. Also I'd like to put lock in lock out hubs and are there any updated wheel bearing kits for these trucks as they are kinda notorious for having pour design in that area.

Welcome to the forum,
You will need a big block 727 if it's automatic, is it half or 3/4 ton?

Thanks for replying, it is a half ton long bed well as far as I can tell small bolt pattern I'm pretty sure it's half ton. and it is an automatic. So I need the the big block trans 727. Ok thank you, do you have any info on changing out front hubs? I want to put lock out lock in hubs hopefully updated from the old ball bearing design that is so infamous for being bad design.
