New to site, with question
Looking for serious advice regarding restart of my 1972 340 Twister, rebuilt the engine 17 years ago, had about 1500 miles on it. I got married had a baby girl and parked the car. I want to give the car to my daughter. I am about to try and restart my baby blue. Ive owned this car 31 years and she was 90% restored when I parked her in the garage, I tore into her today to replace the water pump, belts hoses...Im thinking about Marvel Mystery Oil in Cylinders for a week or two, but concerned about spinning bearings....suggestions welcome.....

i have a 72 340 duster also. The same thing with mine it was restored 18 yrs ago then a guy lost control of it and wrecked the front(they fixed it all though). Then i bought it about 4 yrs ago. Its in excellent shape dont need much work. I dumped marvel mystery oil right in the oil let it run through it for a bit cleared alot of and losened some stuff up then i dumped it and put fresh in worked great.

Well Im hoping so, but Im taking it slow and easy going to let the stuff sittin in the cylinders a week at least, hoping for cooler weather before I start her...Too darn Hot here-Texas

the only thing id be worried about is rust in the cylinders. When i took the heads off mine i had a little hole from it but i took some very fine sand paper and got most of it fixed

Welcome!
MM oil in through the spark plug holes and turn the motor by hand a few times a day. Maybe even go so far as to pull the valve covers off and make sure that you have plenty of lube there too.

Welcome to the forum... MMOil is great stuff.... All the above ideas are great... I would add that going slowly is also important... You have the right idea for going slow... Give the oil a chance to "do its thing" While you are waiting for the oil to do its magic be sure to check out the Mopar of the Month contest...
