Well after some swapping, trading, I've gone from a 95 Chevy Z71 to a 98 S-10 and now to a 77 Dodge D200 Club Cab with a 440 and 727 Automatic Transmission. This is my first Dodge. My dad and grandpa have had dodges all of my life and even my ex wife had a dodge dakota. Always wanted one of those, use to live behind an old dodge dealership.

Was driving the pickup home from Ohio Sunday and the muffler blew up. Literally. Fun times so far. Truck runs great has 115k miles on it. Was originally a Colorado truck. It is a Camper Special Long Bed, 9,000lb GVW. Not sure what gears it has because the little tab on the rear axle is broken off. Not sure if it has posi either. Haven't jacked it up yet. It is getting its trans flushed, new filter, and bands checked today. Plus a new muffler, lol.

Has a few electrical issues in the guage cluster but hopefully it is just the 5V regulator. The dual tanks don't work, so that will be my next project as it only gets about 9mpg, the second tank would be helpful for sure.

I plan on replacing the doors and front fenders. Maybe pick up a new grille at Carlisle this year. I am going to have the split bench reappolstered. I love the way it folds down. Going to order new carpet but I am wondering where the best place is. I would like to get some with padding. Thought maybe rubber would be better for my lifestyle but carpet would make it more original since it was part of the Adventurer SE package.

After I get it back to town I am going to start working on getting the tank switch working. Can't find much information about these trucks on the web. Not as well as Ford and Chevy's of the same vintage. But I like that part the most. Makes it fun to research.

Welcome!

Rear axle is probably a D60 with 4.10 gears and is open. I didn't know of any getting a trac lok and if it did, it is most likely worn out.

Is the switch for the gas tanks manual or electric?

I believe the switch is electric. But I've crawled under the truck and noticed the valve setup hanging down. I haven't really dug much into the truck yet. I'll take more pics tomorrow. The transmission shop called me back and the cooler lines were bad and leaking. Now she should shift real good now.

Will do and thanks.

So, after replacing the battery, the battery cables, the ballast resistor, and the voltage regulator, I found that it was all because I had a bad wire that was broken that went from the regulator to the alternator.

Now I'm working on cutting and setting up my new Accel Wire Set.

She still wont start. Turns over. I did find I had a bad connection at the cab plugs. I think I am going to have to replace the entire engine wiring harness. The wires are so brittle and hard.

The only part I haven't changed is the Ignition Control Module. Now the Plug's looked horrible! Since getting the truck it has never fired up right away. I have a cruise control optioned truck. None of the autoparts stores carry the ICM with cruise in stock. Could I run the other part number until the correct part comes in?
