Unhappy piston ring filer

I have to file the piston rings of my mopar project to fit the recomended specs. The tool for this task is expensive for this one time job. This tool looks simple. If someone here has any idea to make a home made ring filer, you are welcome.

If you clamp a thin file in a vice (with the file parallel to the ground) and hold the ring steady with both hands, you can set your gap by moving the ring back and forth, filing both sides of the gap. I guess you'll want to debur it after wards. (Small stone in drill motor). Use a medium file, be careful it comes off easy. Set your ring back in the bore using an old piston to square it up. Use feeler gauges to check dimensions.
