the 318 is a great, stronge, realiable motor. How bad is the interior? What does the underside look like? Is all the glass good? Are you sure there is no rust/rot? What about under the carpet?

without seeing how bad the interior is and depending on your level of skill doing the work your self, i'd say its not a bad deal. but its up to you in the end.

Sounds to me like a good deal if all it needs is a tune up or so but like 78 says its all about if you like it or not , anything can be fixed on a car but it does depend on your ability or others to do the work but for 1000.00 i would buy it and drive it for as long as you can even if you dont intend on doing any real up grades to it but just make sure you have the brakes and steering all looked at ( we dont want to see anything bad happen to anyone ok ) but im sure everything will work out fine if you decide to buy it................. send a few pic if you are able to ok

take a frig magnet and go around the wheel wells and the botoms of the rockers and fenders. if it sticks yes def. buy it, if not id stay away from it its next to impp. to find repair panels for it, and if your on a budget, then itll be very costly to have a good body shop make you new patch panels. I had a 63 330 wagon, nice body but no front end, it ws exp. for the parts i needed , i let it go. kinda miss it now, but man they make bad street cars w/ rb`s in them.
