Strange 1964 Valiant V-100, Any experts on them out there?
Hi, as you can tell by my username I have a strange little car, a 1964 Valiant V-100 with ROUND tail lights, not oval but perfectly round circles and I've never seen one like it, I've searched and searched and searched but can't find another one, anyone out there with some information on the little guy? Its a light blue 4 door with a 170 C.I. Slant Six and the automatic push button 3 speed transmission. Please help me! Where did this thing come from and why aren't there any like it?!?
quite simple really, you have the Canadian version of the 1964 Valiant.
They did that back in the 60's and 70's.
The Canadian version of the 1960's chevelle's are quite different then what your used to seeing. Forget about when these cars went to Australia.
It's a unique car in the US but a lot of them with the round lights still roam the streets of Canada.
all the best

Quite a bunch of differences between older Canadian US cars, and I cannot remember 'em all
Dodge pickups were Dakotas
Pontiacs had Chev engines. I'm talking the '60s, before the GM "corporate engine"
Ford? were all Mercuries or some such? I can't remember maybe it was the pickups?
One of the most interesting rides I've been on...........one summer day spied a T Ford in a parking lot, and I was looking at it. I could tell this was DRIVEN. I spied that it had some sort of extra shifter control, so probably (and sure enough) an OD unit
Owner had found aftermarket engine housings to allow use of conventional distributor instead of the coil box, and had adapted an alternator!!! But under all that it was still a model T!!!
But the best part.................it was CANADIAN!!! I didn't even know there was such a thing!!! Had "Canada" cast into the engine head, as well as the running boards.
He INSISTED I go for a ride. I did not argue much!!
